Our Journey
My dear family
I am at a loss of words on where to start …
God starts things in our lives, around us and looking back it is simply beautiful …
I love what my pastor used to say, an extraordinary life is a life of ordinary day-to-day events, lived well for his glory. I can begin to list out all the accomplishments that we have done as a fellowship over the years, but they pale in comparison to what he is doing in our lives. Over the years I have come to realize that what he is doing in our lives is the key to unleashing the power of the gospel through us.
You have influenced me, challenged me and prayed for me in the dark and lonely days. In the days of rejoicing you have partnered and shared in my happiness. John uncle when he started the fellowship used this phrase, “home away from home” … let me expand it a bit …”family away from family”… we are all part of God’s family…the diversity in the family of God is amazing .. we don’t think alike, look alike, speak alike, but what unites us is one hope, one Lord (Eph 4:5,6). Over the years I have seen folks come and go for various reasons, folks being changed by the power of the gospel, lives transformed as the living word penetrated the hardened hearts and finally, when a group of like minded folks come together and bow the knee, there is an explosion of power, inside and outside the hearts of men.
Why do people come to CICF ? Authentic fellowship… we are a bunch of rag-tag individuals who want to SHARE LIFE and DO LIFE together. Iron sharpens iron. I am not afraid to share my weaknesses, falls and faults when I am around you. Bible study …. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. We hold hands on this journey called life ..as we push forward and follow the eternal word. Evangelism … our focus is on discipleship .. only a disciple can make another disciple… we want to live out what we have in our hearts.
So the journey continues, a step at a time, lived for the Glory of God.
God bless you and your family
